In this episode I talk to Dr.Peter Carr about social media and its impact on our personal freedom and democracy. The episode answers many questions including: If social media is being used for repression? Whether social media has led to a general state of apathy? What is social media's role in promoting radicalism?  

Dr. Carr is a Lecturer in the Department of Managements Sciences, and the Program Director for 3 certificate programs at the University of Waterloo. His research interests focus on the use of technology in business and society and include technology entrepreneurship,  the use of social media to improve business operations, technology in third world development, and  the social impact of information technology.
